Legacy
Media Guru
Brandon Everell
Specialty: #Hashtags
Whether it’s construction or web development, Brandon’s focus has always been on building. He started with wood working in high school, but that soon expanded to include metals while he attended classes at UVic for sculpturing. After working in commercial construction for a year, Brandon found his way to Legacy Projects, learning the fundamentals of residential construction in the process. When he’s not giving his dad a helping hand with the cabin, Brandon can be found hiking, climbing, or in another situation that leaves him wondering if he’s actually enjoying himself.
Labourer
Roechelle Hrehorka
Specialty: Horse Whispering
Roechelle’s love for tools started back when she worked on the farm, doing fence repairs and moving tractors. She split time by helping her dad with his plumbing business. After spending some time at college, Roechelle realized that there was something missing in her life. In search of a better fit, she decided to join the Legacy Team to perfect her skills in the trade. Whether it’s sanding, staining, demolition, or something in between, Roechelle has the poise and dedication to get the job done right. Outside of work, she spends her free time with her horse and best friend Cora, whose large stature is only eclipsed by her even bigger heart.
Carpenter
Joe Tramontin
Specialty: Meteorology
Joe’s transition from commercial to residential construction was several years in the making. His start in the industry came during his apprenticeship, and before long he was gaining experience on the commercial side while doing form work on the UBC Tennis Centre. After five years, Joe wanted to work in an area that allowed him to think outside the box, which ultimately led him to Legacy Projects. Joe’s detail-oriented approach extends to the pitch, where he caresses and careens the ball around defenders. When Joe punches out at work, he works with his new favourite tool: the saxophone.
Apprentice Carpenter
Dave Roper
Specialty: Keepin' it tight
When it comes to experience, Dave has done it all. Splitting his years between forestry, mining, firefighting and real estate, Dave learned the value of planning and executing. Dave’s eight years in the Vancouver Real Estate industry turned him into a local home style expert. His true passion is in dealing with people, which made him an easy fit with Legacy Projects when he joined in April 2017. Dave is a tennis lover and craft beer enthusiast, but at heart, he’ll always be a true northerner that embraces nature and the elements.
Lead Carpenter
Tanner Kolinsky
Specialty: Dodge Repair
Tanner’s affinity for carpentry started in high school. His interest in the craft was piqued, but he wanted more. Tanner decided to jump in head-first, enrolling in the Foundations Program at BCIT. The intensive program combined theory and project work, which gave him a well-rounded understanding of the trade. After spending several years honing his craft with a few companies, Tanner was ready to create a new legacy. When he’s not crafting, Tanner can be found carving up mountains on his snowboard or slicing up the waters on his skies.
Build Support
Kayla Walker
Specialty: Colour and Texture
Kayla has been building with Legacy for more than two years. Her passion for creating began at an early age, manifesting itself in her love of music and interior design. It wasn’t long before she found her way to Legacy, where she could use her creativity to help clients with their dream vision. Kayla likes to use both her creative side and organization side to assist the team. The time and attention she puts into her work leaves any project in the right hands.
Site Supervisor
Jay Lamont
Specialty: Guest Relations
After moving to Vancouver in 2000, Jay got an offer to work construction with a friend. He took the opportunity, did some concrete forming, and soon moved into estate home building and fine finishing. Jay started his own proprietorship before helping to build Legacy Projects. While his specialty is project management, Jay’s passion comes from his eye for detail. This extends to the kitchen, where his acumen for cured meats makes him the toast of every party.
Founder
Don Murphy
Specialty: Problem Simplification
Don’s a true Canuck, having been born and raised in Vancouver. His passion for the industry started in 1984, when he became an assistant to a project manager for a construction company. Don would go on to lead projects for decades. During that time, Don assumed coaching responsibilities for his kids’ soccer teams. After 12 years, he decided to hang up his cleats and clipboard to start building a different kind of legacy with a new team. Regardless of the responsibility, the real fun for Don comes from navigating through the challenges. When he is not building for others, Don is using his left-handed creativity on his Pemberton cabin, employing mostly recycled material. Don has been happily married for 29 years and counting. He has no plans to change that.
